Nutritional values of Maris Piper potatoes per 100g
Potatoes should be eaten as part of a healthy, balanced diet. They are a good source of potassium, Vitamin C and Vitamin B6. They are virtually fat-free, gluten free, have no cholesterol and their skins are a great source of fibre.
The variety Maris Piper was introduced to the UK in 1966. It is a main crop potato and is one of the most widely grown potato varieties grown in the UK. It is a good all-rounder suitable for mash, baked, chips and roast potatoes. It is planted in the Spring, nurtured throughout the Summer enjoying the British sun and showers, harvested in October and stored throughout the Winter for us to enjoy until the new crop is ready the following year.
Scrub them to make baked potatoes and wedges.
Peel them to make boiled, mash, chips, roast and dauphinois potatoes.
